The Ayers Children’s Medical Center

About the Program

In 2005, local businessman and philanthropist Jim Ayers made a commitment to the children of West Tennessee with a $5 million pledge for the coordination and expansion of pediatric services at West Tennessee Healthcare. Since that time, Ayers Children’s Medical Center has grown to include a Pediatric Specialist Outpatient Clinic that connects some of the nation’s top pediatric specialists with local children. Ayers Children’s Medical Center also offers inpatient services such as a dedicated pediatric wing, a pediatric intensive care unit and a neonatal intensive care unit. Each area is staffed with caring professionals who are highly skilled in meeting the needs of children.

As a further benefit to the community, Ayers Children’s Medical Center offers programs and services such as the West Tennessee Center for Child Development, the Kiwanis Center for Child Development and Healthy Start Program, which addresses the physical, developmental and emotional needs of children. In addition, the Ayers Children’s Medical Center offers support groups and events designed to help parents experiencing a variety of life changing situations, as well as a variety of educational classes and community events to help families learn and grow with their children.
