Accounting Manager
Full Time Exempt Professional
Job Description
Manages Accounting processes to include general ledger functions, accounts payable, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, grant compliance and reporting for The Ayers Foundation Trust and related entities. Position reports to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for tracking time allocation for responsibilities listed below for accurate grant reporting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages grant and financial reporting
- Updates allocation schedules for various charges to grants based on rational allocation processes (insurance, payroll, computer software etc.)
- Manages payroll posting, reconciliations and recording of allocations
- Reviews accounts payable disbursements to ensure payments are properly coded to applicable grants
- Handles the review of balance sheet reconciliations as assigned by the Director of Accounting
- Conducts budget setup and monitoring
- Manages the preparation of information and schedules for filing of 990 tax forms
- Serves as backup to Senior Accountant for accounts payable processes
- Other various assignments as requested by the Director of Accounting or the Chief Operations Officer

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, master’s degree and CPA license preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience with nonprofits, grants management or public accounting
- Nonprofit specialized knowledge of accounting, grant compliance and audit preparation, general ledger/accounts payable/accounts receivable, budget setup and monitoring preferred
- Proficient in various accounting software (NetSuite, Sage, general ledger, accounts payable, expense reimbursements), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Enterprise, and various payroll systems (Netchex)
