Chief Economic and Workforce Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chief Economic and Workforce Officer will be the internal and external leader of the Decatur County Entrepreneurship Center with high visibility throughout the region as well as state-wide. The Chief Economic and Workforce Officer is responsible for building the Entrepreneurship Center from the ground up with a specific focus on membership recruitment and hiring an excellent team to develop and implement strategies for operations, marketing, partnerships, entrepreneurship and program management, and fundraising. The Chief Economic and Workforce Officer will lead collaborative efforts with other aspects of the Entrepreneurship Center ecosystem including startup incubation, remote work initiatives, and talent development as it relates to creating a supportive working environment for the entrepreneurs.
The Chief Economic and Workforce Officer should have experience problem-solving for startup companies and be able to communicate with and advocate for both the startup teams and potential investors. The Chief Economic and Workforce Officer must have the strong operational and tactical capabilities needed to build a strong team and effective strategy within a nimble startup environment. Also, the Chief Economic and Workforce Officer should have experience fundraising from the public, private and government organizations.
This position will be based at the Entrepreneurship Center in Parsons Tennessee with expectation of business travel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
- Strong operational and tactical capabilities needed to build a strong team and effective strategy within a nimble startup environment.
- Strong capabilities in building stakeholder partnerships with highly effective communication and presentation skills.
Compensation commensurate with qualifications of the applicant.
