Liza Day Penney joined the Ayers Foundation Trust as the College Access Counselor for Meigs County High School in Decatur, Tennessee in July 2023. She received her Bachelor of Science in History with a Minor in Art from Tennessee Wesleyan College (University) in 2015, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Public Service in 2018 and a Certificate of Conflict Management from Lipscomb University. Prior to joining the Ayers Foundation Trust, she worked as an Upward Bound Academic Advisor, an AmeriCorps VISTA with Tennessee Wesleyan University’s Love Thy Neighbor Project Campus Food Pantry, and serves as an active volunteer advisor for Sigma Kappa Sorority. Liza resides in her lifelong hometown of Dayton, Tennessee and is eager to give back to students in her neighboring rural community through the Ayers Foundation Trust.
