Job Description
The Student Success Coordinator (SSC) works closely with the College Access Counselors in their county to assist and provide support in a multitude of essential areas. The SSC is responsible for ensuring electronic databases are kept up to date and trends are identified and communicated to appropriate staff. This includes providing high-touch interactions with high school and college students to ensure eligibility requirements are maintained, barriers are identified, and risks are escalated.

Essential Responsibilities:
● Update electronic data in Salesforce database regularly and as indicated by changes in student demographics, education history, proof of enrollment, financial aid, and employment post-graduation.
● Assist AFSP students by answering basic questions and directing them to appropriate resources for additional assistance.
● Track and verify new and continued enrollment of all students in post-secondary school.
● Work with CACs and utilize the data to identify, prioritize and contact students who have not completed essential tasks such as FAFSA completion, TN Promise eligibility requirements, college applications etc.
● Assist students in completing and tracking community service for TN Promise.
● Support AFSP events and campaigns that support critical deadlines and tasks.

● Network with colleges in the region to match students with necessary resources to mitigate hardships and barriers to student’s success.
● Support program efforts with high school 8-11 grade students through relationship building, events and presentations.

● Ability to interpret a variety of reports and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.

Reporting:
● This position reports to the Regional Director.
● This position receives daily direction and delegation from the College Access
Counselors in their county and the Director of Post-Secondary Success.

 

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree preferred, HS diploma required
● Proficient with data base entry, Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Salesforce platform experience beneficial
● Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents/guardians, and educational institutions

● Ability to walk 1-3 miles for campus tours and visits
